The competition for the Supervisory Board of NNEGC Energoatom will be held not under a shortened procedure, but under a full and open procedure, in accordance with the standards of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. For the duration of the competition, the government will act as the supervisory board of the state-owned enterprise.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The competition will be held according to the full procedure

“As a result of consultations with our international partners, we have agreed that in order to restore confidence in NNEGC Energoatom, we need to hold a competition for the Supervisory Board not under a shortened procedure, but under a full and open, competitive procedure, in accordance with OECD standards, provided for all strategic Ukrainian state-owned enterprises,” she said.

According to her, these recommendations are enshrined in a letter from the heads of diplomatic missions of the G7 countries, which was sent to the government.

Svyrydenko emphasized that the reboot of management requires a balanced approach, and the competition and appointment should take place by the end of this year, and the government provides all the necessary conditions for this.

“For the period of the competition, the government will perform the functions of the supervisory board of NNEGC Energoatom in full cooperation with our partners, involving the nomination committee in making important decisions on the company’s management,” the Prime Minister said.

She added that these changes are part of the Government’s action plan to reboot the management of state-owned companies, particularly in the energy sector.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers is launching a large-scale audit of state-owned companies, with a special focus on the energy sector. The audits cover management efficiency, procurement and the work of supervisory boards.
