In Zakarpattia, law enforcement officials detained the head of the military medical commission, who is suspected of organizing a scheme to issue fake medical certificates for conscripts. During searches of the official’s premises, large sums of cash in various currencies were seized, amounting to over 11 million hryvnias. According to the investigation, the 60-year-old head of the Medical Examination Commission is suspected of receiving improper benefits for issuing a fictitious report on limited fitness for military service.
Investigators believe that the official promised to prepare the necessary documents without a full medical examination, limiting himself to a formal confirmation of diagnoses.
Law enforcement officers documented the transfer of part of the funds, after which the official was detained. The detention took place after the conclusion was issued and the documents were handed over.
How much was allegedly demanded for the fake report
The investigation established that the 60-year-old official demanded $6,000 from the conscript.
In exchange for this money, he promised to issue a report on limited fitness for service without conducting actual medical examinations, based solely on formal confirmation of diagnoses.

What was seized during the searches
During the investigative actions, large amounts of cash in various currencies were seized from the suspect: over $240,000, over €3,000, nearly 1.3 million Hungarian forints, and over 260,000 hryvnias.
The total amount in hryvnia equivalent exceeded 11 million UAH.
Among the seized funds were also marked bills, which were used to document the crime.
What charge is being brought against the official
The official was notified of suspicion under the article regarding the receipt of an unlawful benefit on an especially large scale. The official’s actions are classified under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty under this article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.
Currently, law enforcement officials are deciding on the selection of a preventive measure, the seizure of property, and the suspension of the suspect from performing official duties.
