Changes to the physics test
Tetyana Vakulenko noted that “there will be no substantive changes to the tests.” However, to make the physics exam easier for applicants, cosmetic changes were made that simplify the test slightly.
She added:
“Unfortunately, last year we saw that, in addition to having a small number of participants who want to take this exam, we also have a high percentage of those who do not meet the passing threshold. Therefore, we have simplified the last part of the assessment slightly.”
This year, according to Vakulenko, the subjects most frequently chosen by applicants for the NMT include English, geography, biology, and Ukrainian literature. Physics and chemistry remain less popular, ranking at the bottom for several years in a row.
Number of registered participants
According to the data, 355,000 people registered for the NMT in 2023. Of these, over 100,000 participants are graduates from previous years who have already completed their general secondary education. The main testing sessions take place from May 20 to June 25, and the additional sessions from July 17 to 24.
