“Oberig” Will Operate Under a New System: What Has Changed for All Those Subject to Military Service

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved new procedures for maintaining the “Oberig” Unified State Register of Conscripts, Persons Subject to Military Service, and Reservists. The document specifies how data on citizens subject to military registration will be entered, updated, verified, and corrected.

What Has Changed
The new procedure regulates all stages of the registry’s operation:
- entering new information;
- automatic data updates;
- verification of information;
- correction of technical or informational errors.
The Ministry of Defense notes that this should make the maintenance of the registry more transparent and standardized.
Timeframe for Entering Information
From now on, information must be entered into the “Oberig” registry no later than five business days after it is received.
Data can be entered into the system in two ways:
- automatically—through data exchange with other government registries;
- manually—based on documents and information provided by citizens or government agencies.
Sources of information may include:
- regional recruitment and social support centers;
- military units;
- state authorities;
- local government bodies;
- educational institutions;
- enterprises and institutions.

How Information Will Be Updated
Information will also be updated automatically or by authorized employees.
At the same time, all information submitted in person by a citizen will undergo mandatory verification and cross-checking against data already contained in the registry.
This mechanism is intended to reduce the number of inaccuracies and instances of duplicate information.
How to correct an error in the “Oberig” registry
If a citizen discovers incorrect or outdated data, it can be corrected.
To do so, they must submit a request to the agency that maintains the registry at their place of military registration.
If incorrect information was transferred to “Oberig” from another government registry or was entered by another government agency, it will be corrected upon receipt of updated official information.
How to Check Your Information
The Ministry of Defense has reminded the public that there are three ways to check your personal information for free:
- through the “Reserve” app ;
- through the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services (if technically possible);
- by submitting a written request to the district or city Military Registration and Enlistment Office or the relevant department at your place of military registration.
Why the New Procedure Was Adopted
The Ministry of Defense explains that the new mechanism is designed to standardize the maintenance of the Unified State Register, expedite the exchange of information between government agencies, and ensure the timely updating of information on conscripts.
Special attention has been given to the procedure for correcting errors so that citizens can promptly update their personal information and avoid inaccuracies in military registration records.
