13 May 19:09
The Perm oil refinery in Russia sustained significant damage following drone attacks on May 7. As a result, the refinery has completely halted operations, and repairs are currently underway, which could take several weeks.
This is reported by Reuters , as cited by "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to Reuters, the attack damaged several key units at the plant. In particular, three main crude oil distillation units were immediately shut down.
One of them, CDU-4, has been out of operation since April 30 due to a previous drone strike. These attacks highlight the vulnerability of Russia’s critical infrastructure, even at a great distance from the border with Ukraine—Perm is located more than 1,500 km away.

Impact on Production
The plant is owned by Lukoil, Russia’s largest private oil company. In 2024, the Perm refinery processed approximately 12.6 million tons of crude oil, equivalent to about 250,000 barrels per day. In addition, the plant produced 2 million tons of gasoline, 5.3 million tons of diesel fuel, 700,000 tons of coke, and 200,000 tons of fuel oil. The plant’s shutdown could have a significant impact on the supply of these products.
Repair work at the plant is currently underway and, according to sources, could take several weeks. This is due to the extent of the damage and the difficulties in restoring the high-tech equipment that was damaged during the attacks.
