After 40 Years at the Company: Zara Executive Padin Has Left the Company

13 July 06:12

Beatrice Padin is leaving Inditex after more than 40 years with the company, more than 25 of which she spent overseeing women’s apparel for the flagship brand Zara. Bloomberg reported on the personnel changes, citing a company statement, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Alfredo Ferro, who previously headed the Zara Basic line, will become the new head of Zara’s women’s division.

Padin joined Inditex as a teenager in the mid-1980s. She later became one of the closest associates of company founder Amancio Ortega and a mentor to his daughter, Marta Ortega, as she prepared to be appointed chair of the board of directors in 2021.

After Marta Ortega took the helm at Inditex, the company focused on developing a more premium product range and exclusive collaborations. Among Zara’s most recent projects are a collaboration with designer John Galliano and a joint collection with artist Bad Bunny.

At the same time, according to Bloomberg, growth in Inditex’s largest business segment—which includes Zara, Zara Home, and Lefties and accounts for nearly 72% of the group’s sales—has slowed. In 2025, this segment grew by only 1%.
