The Russian government has allocated more than 4.3 billion rubles from its reserve fund to support the tourism sector in annexed Crimea and Sevastopol. Payments will go to employees of more than 4,600 companies in the industry that have found themselves in a difficult situation due to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reports "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Russian propaganda media.

Specifically, 3.7 billion rubles will be directed to Crimea, and 584.5 million to Sevastopol.

According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), approximately 1 million trips were canceled in Crimea and Sevastopol by the end of July. The organization estimated the value of canceled bookings at 20–25 billion rubles, of which 5–7 billion rubles were attributable to tour operators. ATOR asked the government to grant Crimean tour companies and hotels deferrals on fulfilling their obligations to tourists, as well as on paying taxes and insurance premiums.

In late May, Crimea was hit by a fuel crisis due to intense strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the peninsula’s supply routes and Russian oil refineries. On June 26, a state of emergency was declared in the republic. On July 6, the entire Crimea was left without power due to Ukrainian attacks on power substations, and subsequently without water.

According to Russian authorities, problems with the peninsula’s electricity and water supply persist to this day.

Amid the fuel crisis and disruptions to electricity and water supplies, Crimean residents have also faced shortages of certain goods, including sugar, buckwheat, rice, flour, and salt. Some supermarkets have imposed limits on the sale of groceries: no more than three items per person. Prices at gas stations have jumped to 185–200 rubles per liter of gasoline, while on the black market it is already selling for 250–400 rubles.
