An Earthquake Struck Near Lviv: What Are the Consequences?

An earthquake was recorded near Lviv on Sunday, July 26. It occurred at a depth of 4 kilometers. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the press service of the Main Center for Special Control.

The earthquake was recorded in the Pustomyty urban community of the Lviv District in the Lviv Region. The tremor had a magnitude of 2.8.

Preliminary data indicate that it occurred at approximately 5:24 a.m. at a depth of 4 kilometers.

According to the classification, the recorded earthquake is considered barely perceptible.

As a reminder, since the beginning of July 2026, four earthquakes have already been recorded in Ukraine:

  • July 3—near the coast of Crimea, Ukraine (magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale);
  • July 4—in the territory of the Novoushytska Territorial Community, Kamianets-Podilskyi District, Khmelnytskyi Oblast (magnitude 2.9 on the Richter scale);
  • July 7—in the Lokhvytska Territorial Community, Myrhorod District, Poltava Oblast (magnitude 2.6 on the Richter scale);
  • July 9 – from the territory of the Novoushytska Territorial Community in the Kamianets-Podilskyi District of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast (magnitude 1.6 on the Richter scale).
