May rankings for gasoline-powered cars: which models were the most popular

In May, 12,700 gasoline-powered passenger cars were added to Ukraine’s vehicle fleet. This is 3% less than during the same period last year. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing “Ukravtoprom.”
Of the total, 2,200 cars were new. Registrations of new gasoline-powered passenger cars fell by 10% year-over-year.
Another 10,500 gasoline-powered cars were used vehicles imported from abroad. In this segment, the decline was 1% compared to last year.
The most popular new gasoline-powered model in May was the Hyundai Tucson, with 190 units. Second place went to the Mazda CX-5 with 186 units, and third to the Renault Duster with 113 units.

The top 5 new gasoline-powered passenger cars included:
- Hyundai Tucson — 190 cars;
- Mazda CX-5 — 186 cars;
- Renault Duster — 113 cars;
- BMW 3 Series — 110 cars;
- Skoda Karoq — 102 cars.
Among imported used gasoline-powered cars, the Volkswagen Tiguan took the lead with 668 units. It is followed by the Volkswagen Golf and the Nissan Rogue.
Top 5 imported used gasoline-powered cars in May:
- Volkswagen Tiguan — 668 cars;
- Volkswagen Golf — 620 cars;
- Nissan Rogue — 604 cars;
- Audi Q5 — 520 cars;
- Ford Escape — 305 cars.
The data shows that gasoline-powered cars remain one of the key segments of the Ukrainian auto market, and used imported cars account for the largest share of registrations.
