Russian forces attempted to assassinate Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, an adviser to Ukraine’s defense minister, overnight using a Shahed-type attack drone.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Sergei Beskrestnov’s Facebook post.

“Last night, the Russians tried to kill me. A guided ‘Shahed’ drone crashed into the wall of my house. My house is gone. I was grazed, but the main thing is that I’m miraculously alive,” Beskrestnov said.

According to the advisor to the Minister of Defense, he was mentally prepared for the possibility that the Russians might try to kill him.

Later, Beskrestnov reported that the enemy had fired a total of four “Shahed” rockets.

“Flash” Appointed to the Ministry of Defense

As a reminder, in late January, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the strengthening of the defense technology sector and the appointment of Serhiy Beskrestnov (call sign “Flash”) as an advisor on technology.

“We are strengthening this area with people who have already proven their effectiveness. Flash is one of the strongest practical experts in the field of drones, electronic warfare, and enemy decision analysis,” the minister noted.

Fedorov emphasized that Beskrestnov’s expertise covers radio communications, electronic warfare systems, and intelligence. He was one of the first to publicly report on Russia’s use of FPV drones with machine vision and jet-powered “Shaheds.”

The advisor’s main focus is on developing systemic solutions to counter Russian strike and reconnaissance drones, reduce the effectiveness of enemy attacks, and protect Ukrainian troops.
