Russian drones attacked a port in the Odesa region: what is known about the aftermath (photos)

On the night of April 14, Russian forces once again attacked the Odesa region with strike drones. Maritime infrastructure facilities in Izmail were targeted. The attack damaged a civilian vessel, a pier, a barge, and port equipment, and caused damage to buildings and private homes.
This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, and Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Where did the Russians strike in the Odesa region?
According to available information, Russian drones attacked maritime infrastructure facilities in Izmail overnight. Several strikes were recorded within the port area.
The main target of the strike was the port area, where infrastructure facilities and a civilian vessel were damaged.
Which vessel was damaged
A civilian vessel flying the Panamanian flag was damaged in the Izmail port area.

In addition, the following were damaged:
- a pier;
- a barge;
- port equipment.
This indicates that the strike was directed at civilian maritime infrastructure that supports the port’s operations.
What other damage was recorded after the attack
As a result of the strikes in the Odesa region, a service station building was destroyed, after which a fire broke out.
Also destroyed:
- 2 passenger buses;
- 7 passenger cars.
In addition, 6 private homes were hit. The roofs of these homes were damaged.
Damage to an ambulance has also been reported.






Are there any casualties?
According to preliminary information, no one was injured as a result of the nighttime attack.

What is being said about the infrastructure’s operation
Oleksiy Kuleba reported that, despite the latest attack, the critical infrastructure facility continues to operate normally.
In other words, even after the strike on the port area, basic operations at the facility continue, and the situation is under control.
Who is working on site
Following the attack, the following are on site:
- emergency services;
- utility services;
- specialists dealing with the aftermath.
Work is currently underway to repair the damage and stabilize the situation following the overnight strike.
