21 May 15:31

The State Property Fund of Ukraine is once again attempting to find an investor for the single property complex of the state-owned enterprise “Zarubinsky Distillery” in the Ternopil region. After the previous auction failed to take place due to a lack of participants, the starting price of the property was reduced by 50%—to 73.8 million UAH excluding VAT. This was reported by the SPFU press service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

What the State Property Fund is selling

This refers to the property complex of one of the largest producers of ethyl alcohol and bioethanol. The enterprise has a well-developed industrial infrastructure, equipment, transportation, land plots, and logistics capabilities.

The property is located in the Ternopil region and is being offered for sale as part of a small-scale privatization.

A previous auction for the sale of the Zarubinsky Distillery was scheduled for May 14, 2026. At that time, the starting price was approximately 147.6 million UAH.

However, the auction did not take place due to a lack of participants. Following this, the State Property Fund announced a new round of the auction with a 50% discount.

The new starting price for the property is:

  • 73.8 million UAH excluding VAT

The auction is scheduled for May 22, and the deadline for submitting bids is May 21 at 8:00 PM.

Why the Zarubinsky Distillery Might Be of Interest

The Zarubinsky Distillery may be of interest to investors working in the fields of agricultural processing, alcohol and bioethanol production, industrial processing of raw materials, or energy projects.

Potential advantages of the facility:

  • ready-to-use industrial infrastructure;
  • equipment for the production of ethyl alcohol;
  • capacity for bioethanol production;
  • significant land area;
  • land plots totaling 23.6 hectares;
  • transportation and specialized equipment;
  • potential for modernization;
  • logistical capabilities.

Previous attempts at sale

The Zarubinsky Distillery has already been put up for privatization on multiple occasions in 2024–2025 and in early May 2026.

Previous attempts did not result in a sale due to insufficient buyer demand, a lack of bids, or other procedural reasons.

That is why the state is gradually lowering the starting price in an effort to find a serious buyer for this major industrial asset.
