Ternopil Region is expanding the capacity of the “Western Ukrainian Industrial Hub”: what is known

3 June 14:55

Construction has begun on a new feed mill with a grain storage complex in the village of Ostriv, Ternopil Oblast. This project, planned as part of the “Western Ukrainian Industrial Hub” industrial park, represents a significant step in the development of the region’s agro-industrial sector.

This was announced by Dmytro Kysilevsky, deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The investment in the new project amounts to UAH 1.5 billion. The plant will have a production capacity of 400,000 tons of compound feed per year, and its commissioning is scheduled for 2027.

Land preparation work is currently underway at the site.

Tax breaks and state co-financing

To import equipment for the new plant, its investor, Agroprodservice, plans to take advantage of the zero customs duty and VAT rates provided by law for participants in industrial parks. These incentives will help reduce the cost of importing the necessary equipment.

In addition, the “Western Ukrainian Industrial Hub” is preparing an application for state co-financing of industrial park infrastructure development.

Funding is planned to provide 10 MW of additional electrical capacity for the new plant’s needs.

Expansion of the industrial park

The new feed mill with an elevator complex will occupy an area of 5 hectares. This is part of a new plot that was incorporated into the industrial park after the existing available space was exhausted.

In December 2025, the “Western Ukrainian Industrial Hub” expanded its area from 10.6 hectares to 55 hectares, as the old plot is fully developed with industrial facilities covering 71,000 square meters.

This project is part of a broader trend in the development of agro-industrial facilities in Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that in the Lviv region, “Agrofirma Dzvony” together with the Dutch company Van Aarsen is building a new feed mill with a capacity of 240 tons per day.

Additionally, Golden Agro is investing in the modernization of an oil mill in Izmail for sunflower processing, while Zolotonosha Bacon is completing construction of a new AMILL-CORN plant, which specializes in corn processing.
