Toyota, Skoda, and Volkswagen: Who Leads Ukraine’s Auto Market?

The Ukrainian market for new passenger cars saw a noticeable decline in July. At the end of the month, Ukrainians purchased 5,754 new passenger cars, which is 10.5% less than during the same period last year.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing data from the Ukravtoprom association .
How Many New Cars Did Ukrainians Buy?
Despite the overall market contraction, sales have remained relatively stable since the beginning of 2026.
Over the past seven months, Ukrainians have registered nearly 38,800 new passenger cars, which is only 1% less than during the same period in 2025.
Experts note that the July decline is linked to a drop in consumer activity, economic uncertainty, and seasonal factors.

Toyota Firmly Holds the Lead
Toyota remains the most popular car brand in Ukraine.
In July, the company sold 986 new cars, which is 20% more than a year ago.

At the end of the month, the Toyota RAV4 emerged as the most sought-after model on the Ukrainian market.
The crossover continues to enjoy high demand thanks to its reliability, fuel efficiency, and wide range of trim levels.
Ukrainians continue to choose crossovers
The trend toward growing SUV popularity continues.
According to data from Ukravtoprom, in the first half of 2026:
- crossovers accounted for 80% of the new passenger car market;
- Ukrainians purchased 26,600 new SUVs;
- the share of hybrid and electric models in this segment has already reached 41.6%.
This indicates a gradual shift in consumer preferences toward more fuel-efficient and technologically advanced vehicles.
