Up to 39°C: Ukraine is set to experience one of the hottest days of the summer today

After several days of unusually hot weather, Ukraine is in for a change in the weather. August 6 will be the last day of extreme temperatures, after which cooler air will gradually move into most regions, bringing with it rain and thunderstorms.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a forecast by meteorologist Natalka Didenko.
August 6—the last day of intense heat
According to the meteorologist, on Wednesday, August 6, the maximum air temperature in Ukraine will range from 32 to 39°C.
The hottest conditions will be:
- in the central regions;
- in the south;
- in the eastern part of the country.
In Kyiv, daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 37–39°C. No precipitation is expected during the day.
The weather will begin to change as early as this evening
Ukrainians will feel the first signs of a cool-down as early as the evening of August 6.
According to Natalka Didenko’s forecast, localized rain is possible:
- in the western regions;
- in northern Ukraine;
- in the Vinnytsia region.

When Will the Cooler Weather Arrive?
Starting on August 7, temperatures will begin to gradually drop.
Residents of the western regions will be the first to notice the change, with daytime highs forecast to be:
- 24… 29°C.
At the same time, the heat will persist across most of Ukraine:
- 30… 39°C.
August 8 and 9 will be significantly cooler
According to the meteorologist’s forecast:
- On August 8, temperatures will drop in most regions;
- On August 9, it will also become cooler in the southern regions of Ukraine.
Thus, the abnormal heat will gradually subside across the country.
What will the weather be like in Kyiv?
In the capital, high temperatures will persist on August 7, but a weather front will bring:
- thunderstorms;
- heavy downpours in some areas;
- gusty of wind.
Forecasters warn that a sudden change in atmospheric pressure may affect people’s well-being, especially those who are sensitive to weather changes.
The rain will help clean the air
Natalka Didenko noted that after a prolonged heat wave, the precipitation will help purify the air.
This is particularly relevant given the numerous fires that broke out following massive Russian attacks.
At the same time, the meteorologist emphasized that in summer, under such weather conditions, localized heavy downpours may occur, which are difficult to predict accurately even using modern models.
