Why the Nurlino LPS is important
An LPS is a linear production and dispatch station that ensures the operation of main oil pipelines. Such facilities are responsible for pumping, monitoring, and distributing oil flows.
“Nurlino” is considered one of the major hubs in the “Transneft” system.
Due to its strategic location, the station is crucial for transporting raw materials from Western Siberia to the central regions of the Russian Federation and onward to export destinations.

Fires at Russian oil facilities have become more frequent
The incident in Bashkortostan occurred amid a series of fires and explosions at Russian oil infrastructure facilities. On the night of May 13, there were also reports of drone attacks in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation and fires near port infrastructure.
The Ukrainian side did not comment on these reports.
Separately, media outlets mentioned a fire at the “Kremlin in Izmailovo” complex in Moscow. This refers not to the Kremlin in the center of the Russian capital, but to a cultural and entertainment complex on the outskirts of the city.
