General Staff responds to rumors of encirclement in Pokrovsk

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian occupiers around the Pokrovsko-Myrnohrad agglomeration. Information about the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk is not true. This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The agency provided a response after a representative of the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops said that the Russians had concentrated about 100,000 people in the Pokrovsk direction. And analysts of the Ukrainian project DeepState reported that Russian troops continue to actively put pressure on Ukrainian positions in an attempt to establish control over Pokrovsk.
“The enemy has been trying in vain to push our troops out of the area for more than a year. At the same time, some resources are spreading information about the alleged encirclement of our units in Pokrovsk. It is absolutely untrue,” the statement said.
The General Staff noted that the Russian army is conducting offensive operations northeast of Pokrovsk, making attempts to cut off the logistics of Ukrainian troops. However, despite considerable efforts and continuous assaults, the enemy is not successful.
“Russian soldiers find only their deaths around Pokrovsk,” the statement said.
The General Staff added that the Armed Forces Command has taken appropriate measures to strengthen the stability of defense in this area.
