The first batches of early cabbage grown in Ukraine have hit the market: what is the price?

25 April 22:12

The first, albeit small, shipments of young white cabbage have appeared on the Ukrainian market, according to analysts from the EastFruit project, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

This year, the sales season for early cabbage from local farms began about two weeks later than last year. The delay was caused by a rather cold and prolonged spring.

As of today, local white cabbage from the 2026 harvest is being sold at prices of 30–38 UAH/kg ($0.68–0.87/kg), which is on average 39% cheaper than the first batches of this product during the same period last year.

Imported early cabbage from North Macedonia is also available on the Ukrainian market. Prices for imported cabbage from the new harvest began to drop rapidly due to the arrival of the first batches of locally produced cabbage on the market. Currently, cabbage from North Macedonia is selling for an average of 40 UAH/kg ($0.91/kg).
