The Telegram channel Astra published a video, likely filmed by local residents—the clip shows an explosion and a fire that continued into the early morning. According to media reports, the Azot chemical plant—one of Russia’s largest producers of nitrogen fertilizers—was hit.
Among other things, the plant produces acetic and nitric acids, which are used to manufacture octogen and hexogen—explosives used for military purposes and, consequently, likely in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
In Orel, a UAV crashed into a high-rise building
In the Oryol region, air defense forces shot down four drones, said the region’s governor, Andriy Klychkov. According to him, there were no casualties or damage.
At the same time, local residents reported that a UAV had struck an apartment building in Orel and that a fire broke out afterward. Astra, citing eyewitness videos, reports that the incident occurred at 27A Razdolnaya Street, and the fire in the building broke out on three floors—the 10th, 12th, and 14th. No official reports had been released at the time of publication.
Residents of the city of Vyazma in the Smolensk region also reported a fire at an unspecified facility following a UAV attack.
Media: Oil depot on fire in Rybinsk
Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Yevraev also reported that due to an aerial threat, restrictions were imposed on ground traffic on roads heading toward Moscow.
According to Ukrainian monitoring channels, an oil depot near Rybinsk was hit in the region. Local residents are posting videos showing plumes of smoke, likely rising from the facility’s grounds.
The Rosaviatsiya press service reported restrictions on airport operations in Tambov, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, and Yaroslavl due to the threat of UAVs.
