Strike on Puma Warehouses in the Kyiv Region: Losses Exceeded 620 Million, but Prices for Customers Will Not Be Raised
20 August 16:07
Puma in Ukraine estimates the value of goods destroyed as a result of the Russian attack on August 5 at more than 620 million hryvnia. The company is already seeking new solutions to resume shipments. This was reported by the company’s managing director, Volodymyr Horobets , in comments to Forbes, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Fortunately, despite the complete destruction of Puma’s logistics complex in the Kyiv region, no employees of the company or its logistics partner were harmed.
Puma is already resuming shipments of goods
According to Volodymyr Horobets, the Ukrainian team, together with its partners, has already found solutions that will allow for the gradual resumption of shipments of the current collection.
At the same time, Puma is working with its headquarters on a medium-term restructuring of the supply chain. The company is considering several options—both in Ukraine and abroad.
In early August, Puma warned that due to the loss of warehouse inventory in Ukraine, there could be shortages of certain products in the coming weeks and months.
Puma Does Not Plan to Raise Prices
The company does not plan to raise recommended retail prices to offset losses from destroyed merchandise. Nor are significant staff cuts expected.
“The main task is to restore normal business operations as quickly as possible, and this requires a strong team,” notes Volodymyr Horobets.
At the same time, the total amount of losses has not yet been determined. In addition to the cost of the destroyed merchandise, the company is assessing potential losses due to a decline in economic activity in the second half of 2026.
Puma’s online store remains open
It is noted that despite the destruction of one of its logistics complexes, Puma’s online sales in Ukraine continue.
Products for the online store are stored at a different warehouse and processed through a separate logistics partner. This allows the online store to remain operational, although the availability of certain items may vary.
