Russian strikes on Odesa: high-rise building and kindergarten hit; number of wounded rising

On the night of Wednesday, April 30, Russian forces attacked Odesa with strike drones. Several strikes were recorded in the city, including one on a residential high-rise and a kindergarten building, where a fire broke out. According to preliminary data, the number of injured has risen to six. Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the attack, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to him, the Russians attacked the city in several waves with strike drones, and the extent of the damage and the number of casualties are still being determined.
What is known about the attack on Odesa
On the night of April 30, Odesa came under a massive attack by Russian drones. According to preliminary information, about two dozen UAVs were heading toward the city, and the attack took place in two waves.
During the first wave, damage was reported to a five-story residential building, a private home, a parking lot, and an administrative building.
During the second wave, strike drones were recorded hitting a high-rise residential building.
A Russian UAV also struck a kindergarten building, where a fire broke out.
Rescue workers and emergency services were on the scene.
Number of injured rises
According to preliminary data from city authorities, the number of people injured in the attack has risen to six. All the injured are receiving necessary medical care.
Information regarding the condition of the victims, the extent of the damage, and the final number of casualties is still being clarified.

Fires following the strikes
Fires broke out in the city following the strikes. Footage showing several fire outbreaks after the Russian attack was shared on social media.
A separate report mentioned a fire in a kindergarten building. State Emergency Service units were on site, dealing with the aftermath of the strike and inspecting the area.

Odessa has once again become a target for Russian drones
Odesa and the Odesa region are regularly subjected to Russian drone and missile attacks. In particular, earlier this week, Russian drones attacked the Odesa region and port infrastructure, as well as civilian facilities. During one of the previous attacks on Odesa, residential buildings, port infrastructure, and a merchant ship were damaged.
On April 29, Russian forces also launched a massive attack on the Izmail district of the Odessa region using strike drones. The targets included civilian and port infrastructure, as well as residential areas.
