Short-lived showers and thunderstorms are expected across Ukraine—weather forecast for August 19

On Wednesday, August 19, most regions of Ukraine will experience unstable weather due to fluctuations in atmospheric pressure and humidity. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Precipitation on Wednesday will be unevenly distributed. Overnight, brief showers and thunderstorms are forecast in most regions:

  • in northern Ukraine;
  • in the central regions;
  • in the southern regions.

During the day, the area of unstable weather will shift further east. Localized rain and thunderstorms are expected in the eastern and southeastern regions.

In western Ukraine, as well as in parts of the northern, central, and southern regions, mostly dry weather is expected during the day following overnight precipitation.

Winds will be mainly from the west, 5–10 m/s.

Nighttime temperatures will range from 9 to 14°, and from 13 to 18° in the south and southeast; daytime temperatures will range from 21 to 26°, reaching up to 30° in the far east of the country.

In the Kyiv region and in Kyiv, there will be brief showers and thunderstorms in some areas at night, with no precipitation during the day. Winds will be from the west at 7–12 m/s.

Air temperatures in the region will range from 9–14° at night to 21–26° during the day; in Kyiv, temperatures will range from 12–14° at night to 23–25° during the day.

In addition, an extreme fire danger level remains in effect across Ukraine through August 20, except in the Volyn, Lviv, and Zakarpattia regions.
