Ukrainians and Poles have become the largest groups of tourists at the Croatian resort of Makarska

In July, the Croatian resort town of Makarska recorded more than half a million tourist overnight stays, which, according to preliminary data, represents a 1.7% increase compared to last year, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".
The total number of arrivals rose by 4.5%, and the number of tourists increased by 3.5%.
As before, Polish visitors remain the resort’s largest group, accounting for over 74,000 overnight stays. However, this category saw a 10% decline compared to July 2025.

Ukrainians took second place in terms of numbers, with over 66,000 overnight stays, showing a significant increase of 24.7%.
In third place were visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who recorded approximately 64,000 overnight stays—7% more than last year.
Most tourists prefer to stay in private apartments.
This type of accommodation accounted for 325,000 overnight stays, or up to 65% of the total in the region.
At the same time, growth in this category compared to last year was modest, amounting to only 1.2%.
The destination remains highly popular despite the fact that vacations in Croatia this year have become 15–20% more expensive on average compared to previous seasons.
Currently, the average daily cost of a stay in the country for Ukrainians—including accommodation in apartments or hotels, meals, and minor daily expenses—is approximately 70–150 euros per person.
At the same time, based on the common preferences of Ukrainian tourists among Balkan seaside resorts, Croatia confidently holds the top spot alongside Montenegro, while the more affordable Albania usually ranks third due to its less developed tourism infrastructure.
