The Ukrainian government has approved significant amendments to the Ukraine Plan, paving the way for additional support of €8.35 billion under the Ukraine Support Loan program. This step is part of a broader strategy aimed at aligning with European integration processes and creating favorable conditions for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

This was reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

As Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko noted:

“We are aligning the Plan with Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union and creating the conditions to attract €8.35 billion in additional support under the Ukraine Support Loan.”

The changes were developed in cooperation with the European Commission, central executive authorities, and members of parliament. The updated plan includes 35 existing steps and adds 26 new ones. Key areas include the rule of law, energy, and corporate governance.

European Integration Context

These changes are also closely linked to Ukraine’s European integration commitments.

The new and updated indicators align with the requirements of the EU accession negotiation process and the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to European standards. This underscores Ukraine’s commitment to integrating into the European community at the legislative and economic levels.

According to Yulia Svyrydenko, the implementation of Ukraine’s updated Plan will help attract the financial support necessary for macroeconomic stability and the country’s recovery. This is a critical element of Ukraine’s strategy given the current economic situation.

Ukraine has already received the seventh tranche of funding from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program, totaling 2.8 billion euros.

In addition, the state budget received €236 million as part of the World Bank’s PEACE in Ukraine project. These funds are vital for the country’s further development and for supporting its economy.
