The government has prepared payments for Ukrainians ahead of Independence Day: the amounts have been announced

The Cabinet of Ministers has set the amounts for the one-time cash payment to be made on Ukraine’s Independence Day, according to Resolution No. 602 of May 13, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Cabinet of Ministers.

It has been established that the one-time cash payment for Ukraine’s Independence Day will be paid until August 24, 2026, specifically in the following amounts: to persons with disabilities resulting from war and former juvenile prisoners (who were under 14 years of age at the time of their imprisonment) of concentration camps, ghettos, and other places of forced detention, recognized as persons with disabilities due to general illness, work-related injury, or other causes: Group I – 3,100 UAH; Group II – 2,900 UAH; Group III – 2,700 UAH; combatants, victims of the Revolution of Dignity, and former minors (who were under 18 at the time of their imprisonment) who were prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, or other places of forced detention, as well as children born in such places of forced detention to their parents—1,000 UAH; persons who have rendered special services to the Motherland – 3,100 UAH; family members of deceased war veterans, family members of deceased Defenders of Ukraine, and spouses (husbands or wives) of deceased persons with war-related disabilities who have not remarried, spouses of deceased combatants, war veterans, and victims of Nazi persecution who were recognized during their lifetime as having disabilities due to general illness, work-related injury, or other causes, and who have not remarried – 650 UAH; war veterans and former prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, and other places of forced detention; persons who were forcibly taken away for forced labor; children of partisans, underground fighters, and other participants in the struggle against the National Socialist regime behind enemy lines – 450 UAH.

The corresponding payment amounts were also provided for in the previous year.

As reported with reference to Olena Kovalskaya, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the main theme of all Independence Day celebrations in 2026 will be that Ukrainians are a young nation of an ancient people.
