The Cabinet of Ministers is preparing amendments to the Law “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026,” which may be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration by May 12, according to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak (Voice faction) following a meeting between representatives of parliamentary factions and groups and members of the government, reports "Komersant Ukrainian" citing “Interfax-Ukraine. “
According to the MP, this issue was discussed during a meeting attended by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev, and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka with representatives of the factions.
The budget amendments will provide for the integration of a reparations loan from the European Union in the amount of EUR 90 billion. In addition, there are plans to reallocate funds within the “resilience plan” in the amount of approximately UAH 200–270 billion and to adjust military budget expenditures.
Zheleznyak also added that the Verkhovna Rada must ratify the agreement with the EU on the provision of a reparations loan for 2026–2027. At the same time, he emphasized that the government will ask parliament to vote promptly on the proposed amendments.
As reported with reference to Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka, the reparations loan (Ukraine Support Loan) stipulates that repayment is required only if reparations are paid by the Russian Federation.
