The Usyk-Verhoeven fight will take place under boxing rules. The WBC heavyweight title will be on the line—this will be a voluntary title defense by the Ukrainian.

Oleksandr will also defend his WBA and IBF titles. If he loses, he will forfeit these belts, but they will not go to Verhoeven, as the Dutchman is not currently ranked by those organizations.

In addition, the winner of the Usyk-Verhoeven fight will receive a special WBC belt called the “King of the Nile.”

In Ukraine, the Kyivstar TV online television platform has become the official broadcaster of the Usyk-Verhoeven bout. It will show the entire boxing evening in Giza.

The event will be available to users with a Premium HD subscription, as well as its equivalents—plans offering expanded access to sports content and TV channels.

The Usyk vs. Verhoeven fight is expected to begin at approximately 11:45 p.m. Kyiv time.

Star-studded undercard: battles for the WBO and WBA titles

In addition to the main event, fans will see seven more professional bouts.

  • Fight for the vacant WBO belt (super middleweight): promising British fighter Hamza Shiraz will attempt to defeat experienced German Alema Begic.
  • WBA Regular title defense (welterweight): Jack Catterall will face off against the decorated Uzbek fighter Shahram Giyasov.
