Drones struck residential buildings in Odessa: what is known about the aftermath of the attack

On the night of April 23–24, 2026, Russian forces attacked Odessa with drones. Residential neighborhoods in the city were hit: strikes were recorded on two two-story buildings and one three-story building. This was reported by Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odessa City Military Administration, and Oleg Kipper, head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Local authorities reported at least three casualties, damage to a non-residential building, shattered windows in other buildings, and destroyed cars.

According to Serhiy Lysak, Russian drones once again targeted residential neighborhoods in Odesa. He reported that strikes were recorded on several residential buildings—two two-story buildings and one three-story building. In addition, a non-residential building was also hit.

Oleg Kipper clarified that apartments on the second and third floors of the three-story building were destroyed. He also noted that windows were shattered in several other buildings, and nearby cars were damaged.

How many people were injured

As of the first official reports from the authorities, three people were known to have been injured.

At one of the locations, medical personnel provided on-site assistance to two people, while at another, one woman was hospitalized.

City officials separately noted that information regarding the casualties was still being verified.

Residential buildings directly hit by drones sustained the most damage. In a three-story building, apartments on two floors were destroyed, while at other locations, facades, windows, and nearby infrastructure were damaged. Authorities also reported damage to a non-residential building and vehicles in the area of the strike.

Emergency and utility services immediately began working on-site to assess the damage and assist residents. Authorities emphasized that cleanup efforts continued after the air raid alert ended
