Tomato prices have fallen in Ukraine: the main reasons
6 June 17:15
Ukrainian producers are being forced to lower prices on their current tomato stocks, according to analysts at the EastFruit project, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to daily monitoring data, the start of mass sales of this produce from summer greenhouses has led to a drop in prices across virtually the entire country.

Under these conditions, attempts by local greenhouse farms to maintain previous price levels were accompanied by a slowdown in sales, forcing producers to resort to price cuts.
Thus, as of today, large greenhouse complexes are ready to ship available tomato batches at 90–130 UAH/kg ($2.03–2.93/kg), which is on average 15% cheaper than at the end of last week.
Project analysts describe this price decline in the tomato segment as a traditional seasonal phenomenon. It is worth noting that during the same period last year, these vegetables went on sale in Ukraine at an average price 37% lower than today. At that time, the price drop for local tomatoes was more significant than it is now.
