The price of chicken eggs has dropped significantly in Ukraine. According to official data, over the course of a year—from June 2025 to June 2026—their price dropped by 19.4%. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing OBOZ.UA.
Meanwhile, prices continue to fall: currently, major supermarket chains are selling loose eggs for an average of 3.25 UAH per egg (32.5 UAH per dozen), which is 0.17 UAH per egg (1.7 UAH per dozen) lower than at the beginning of July.
According to OBOZ.UA’s monitoring, major chains are selling loose eggs for 2.59–3.99 UAH per egg (25.9–39.9 UAH per dozen). Specifically:

Egg Price Forecast Through the End of Summer
For his part, Denis Marchuk, deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, noted in a comment to the media that egg prices will remain virtually unchanged through the end of summer. This is primarily due to the lack of a surge in demand.
“Accordingly, prices are more or less stable, and the situation with fuel has stabilized somewhat. During the summer months of July and August, prices will remain fairly stable… plus or minus 1–1.5%,” the expert said.
Why Egg Prices Are Constantly Changing
In general, according to Yulia Flerova, CEO of one of the egg-producing companies, sharp fluctuations in egg prices are always caused by a combination of several factors, as reported in the magazine “Our Poultry Farming.” She noted that these factors include:
- Seasonality.
In winter, egg production in households drops significantly. This creates a shortage in the market and drives prices up. At the same time, during periods of increased supply, prices can just as quickly adjust downward. In other words, when supply is high, eggs become cheaper.
- Production costs.
“Since feed accounts for up to 60–70% of the cost of egg production, any fluctuations in grain prices instantly affect the market. The same applies to energy, which is critical for uninterrupted production,” explained Flerova.
- Export activity.
The fact is that when foreign markets open up or become more active, a portion of production is redirected toward exports. This can reduce domestic supply and put additional downward pressure on prices.
“The egg market is generally very sensitive and reacts quickly to any changes. The production cycle is short here, so even a slight imbalance between supply and demand can quickly turn into noticeable price fluctuations,” concluded Flerova.
