Rain, thunderstorms, and a cold snap are coming to Ukraine: when will the weather change?

On May 6, Ukraine will still enjoy warm, almost summer-like weather. Most regions will be dry and sunny, with temperatures reaching up to 27 degrees. However, the weather pattern will change by the end of the week: local showers, thunderstorms, and a drop in temperatures are expected. This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to her forecast, on Wednesday, May 6, Ukraine will still be enjoying a comfortable warm spell, but closer to the weekend, the weather will begin to deteriorate.
What will the weather be like on May 6?
On Wednesday, warm and dry weather will prevail in Ukraine. In most regions, temperatures will rise to 22–27 degrees.
It will be cooler only in the southern part of the country, where temperatures are expected to reach 17–21 degrees.
According to Natalka Didenko, the weather on May 6 will still be summer-like.
“Summer weather will continue in Ukraine on May 6. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 22–27 degrees, with only the southern part remaining cooler, at 17–21 degrees,” the meteorologist reported.
Where rain is possible
Precipitation is unlikely in most regions of Ukraine. Plenty of sunshine, dry air, and comfortable temperatures are expected.
Some regions may be exceptions. Localized rain is possible on May 6:
- in Luhansk Oblast;
- in the evening—in the western part of Ukraine.
“Rain is unlikely in most regions of Ukraine; there will be some crazy discounts, a total sale of vitamin D—lots and lots of sunshine,” Didenko noted.
At the same time, the meteorologist clarified that local precipitation will not be widespread.
“A small exception: local showers will pass through Luhansk Oblast tomorrow, and as late as Wednesday evening, they are possible in the western part,” she added.
Weather in Kyiv on May 6
Dry, sunny, and warm weather is expected in Kyiv on Wednesday. The maximum air temperature in the capital will be around 26 degrees.
“On May 6, Kyiv will be dry and sunny, with a high of 26 degrees,” reported Natalka Didenko.
When the weather will change
The current warm spell in Ukraine will not last long. According to Didenko’s forecast, the first noticeable change in the weather is expected at the end of the week.
During this period, Ukraine may see:
- localized rain;
- thunderstorms;
- a drop in temperature;
- more cloud cover;
- cool air following warm days.
“A change in the weather is expected at the end of the week—localized rain, thunderstorms, and a drop in air temperature,” the meteorologist warned.
Earlier, Didenko also noted that short-lived rains with thunderstorms are possible in the western regions on May 7 and 8.
