According to him, the strike on the logistics facility was one of the most difficult events for the chain’s team.

What happened in Dnipro

On the evening of May 5, the Russian army struck the Varus distribution center in Dnipro. This facility was responsible for logistics and the supply of goods for the supermarket chain.

According to Ruslan Shostak, there are casualties and injuries as a result of the attack. Some of the victims are in the hospital in serious condition.

“There are no words… This night has been the hardest for Varus employees, for all of us… You can never be fully prepared, either mentally or physically, for such events, even in the fifth year of the war…,” Shostak wrote.

The Varus co-founder noted that it is inappropriate to discuss the extent of material damage at this time, as the most devastating consequence of the attack is the loss of human lives.

According to him, the company will provide all details later.

Right now, the main focus is on the victims, their families, and the employees who survived the strike.

Russia continues to strike civilian infrastructure

The strike on the Varus distribution center was yet another attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. In recent days, Russian troops have also attacked energy facilities, railways, gas production sites, industrial facilities, and postal infrastructure.

Such strikes pose risks not only to businesses but also to ordinary citizens, as they target workplaces, logistics, the supply of goods, and essential services.
