Power Outages in Ukraine: An Expert Addresses Whether There Will Be Restrictions Due to the Heat
2 August 22:12
In the coming days, Ukraine will be hit by a second wave of intense heat, which traditionally raises concerns about possible power outages. However, energy expert Stanislav Ignatyev stated that the power grid is currently prepared to weather this period without serious problems, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Glavred.
Will there be power outages due to the extreme heat?
According to the expert, Ukrainians should not expect major problems with the power supply even during peak temperatures.
“The power grid will handle it. There aren’t any significant problems here… In other words, there’s no need to exaggerate the situation right now,” the expert noted.
He emphasized that there is currently no reason to predict critical difficulties for the power grid’s operation, even under conditions of increased load.
How Energy Companies Are Preparing for Peak Loads
Ignatyev explained that extensive preparatory work is underway to ensure a stable power supply. The main goal is to minimize the risk of problems arising at energy infrastructure facilities.
“We are carrying out a very large amount of work to ensure that we do not experience power outages and that there are no major problems at bottlenecks or other relay facilities,” Ignatyev said.
