U.S. military operation against Iran has concluded: Rubio issues statement
6 May 10:14
The United States has concluded its military operation “Epic Fury” against Iran and has moved on to a new phase of operations in the Middle East. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made this announcement during a briefing at the White House, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“The operation is complete, as the Speaker of the House has announced. We have completed this phase,” Rubio said.
He added that the U.S. is changing the tactics of its military presence in the region.
“We are now moving on to Project Freedom,” the Secretary of State said.
The head of the State Department also reaffirmed the U.S. position on the peace negotiation process with Iran.
“As for the negotiations, I think the president has made it clear that part of the negotiation process must involve not only enrichment (of uranium—ed.), but also what will happen to this material, which is hidden somewhere deep… This issue needs to be resolved, and it is being addressed in the negotiations,” he said.
According to Rubio, the U.S. negotiating team understands that the issue of the fate of the material enriched by Tehran is central and will insist on its resolution.

End of the War and Negotiations
As a reminder, last week the White House informed the U.S. Congress that hostilities against Iran had “ceased” because the 60-day period requiring official authorization from lawmakers had expired.
However, U.S. President Donald Trump has not ruled out resuming bombing if negotiations fail or Iran violates the current ceasefire.
It is also worth noting that despite the declared ceasefire, the parties have not yet agreed on a deal to end the war.
Last week, Iran submitted another proposal to the U.S. that included opening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the war, but postponed negotiations on the nuclear program.
Following this, Donald Trump stated in an interview that he had reviewed Tehran’s proposal and called it “unacceptable.” He said he was not satisfied with this option, though he did not specify which points exactly.
At the same time, reports emerged in the media that Iran had allegedly agreed to discuss the nuclear issue during the negotiations. However, it was not specified whether this information had been conveyed to Washington.
