16 September 2025 20:05

A new factory for the production of semi-finished wafers is being built near Zbarazh, Ternopil region. It is being built by the Lecorne company, which was forced to move from Kharkiv region due to military threats. This was reported by zaxid.net, according to [ komersant].

The company plans to create more than 150 jobs. Currently, a drainage system is being set up on the land plot, and production is expected to start in late fall.

What is known about the company

According to YouControl, Lecorna has been operating in the market since 1998. It specializes in the production of wafer sheets, cake bases, cookie blanks, and other semi-finished products for the confectionery industry.

The company is owned by three Kharkiv residents and one resident of Kyiv. Its authorized capital is UAH 3.2 million.

What the community says

Roman Polikrovsky, the mayor of the Zbarazh community, said in a comment for ZAXID.NET:

“The construction of the plant provides income for builders, suppliers of materials, and service entrepreneurs. Some of the employees have already bought housing in Zbarazhchyn, which means they are tying their future to our region.”

According to him, the production facility will produce not only wafer semi-finished products, but also a variety of products for the confectionery and cooking industries.

Why it is important

  • The plant focuses on relocating businesses from the eastern regions to safer areas, which is a common trend during the war.
  • The new production facility will provide jobs and tax revenues for the community.
  • The relocation of workers to Zbarazh is already having an impact on the local housing and services market.

Potential risks

Despite the positive impact on the community, the plant may face several challenges:

  • Logistics: The distance from the main sales markets may increase the cost of transportation of products.
  • Competition: Dozens of manufacturers, including international players, operate in the Ukrainian confectionery market.
  • Staff relocation: not all employees from Kharkiv region are ready to move, so some of them will have to be found locally.

It should be noted that a number of new production facilities have recently opened in Ternopil Oblast.

  • The Kozlivska community plans to launch a plant for the production of building materials.
  • A plant for the production of canned vegetables, pickles and semi-finished products from vacuum-packed vegetables has recently started operating in the region.

Thus, the Ternopil region is gradually becoming a platform for relocating businesses from more dangerous regions of Ukraine.
