Power outages due to Russian attacks: which regions were affected on May 18

As of May 18, some consumers in five regions of Ukraine remain temporarily without power due to hostilities and Russian shelling of energy facilities. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
In addition, more than 40 settlements in several regions have lost power due to severe weather.
Where there is no power on May 18
According to the Ministry of Energy, due to hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers remain without power in the following regions:
- Dnipropetrovsk;
- Zaporizhzhia;
- Sumy;
- Kharkiv;
- Chernihiv.
Utility workers are working around the clock to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible. Restoration work is ongoing 24/7.
In Donetsk Oblast, a drone attacked a repair crew
The Ministry of Energy also reported an attack on a repair crew in Donetsk Oblast. The workers were traveling in a company vehicle to the site of emergency repair work when they were attacked by an enemy drone.
As a result of the strike, two power workers sustained injuries of varying severity. The victims were taken to a medical facility, where they are receiving the necessary care.
This incident once again demonstrates that energy workers operate under extremely dangerous conditions, particularly in frontline regions.

Over 40 settlements left without power due to severe weather
In addition to hostilities, the power supply situation has been affected by severe weather.
Due to severe weather conditions, more than 40 settlements in several regions remain without power:
- Dnipropetrovsk;
- Kyiv;
- Sumy;
- Cherkasy;
- Chernihiv.
Repair crews are already working to restore power.
Will there be power outage schedules on May 18?
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that no power restrictions are expected on May 18.
In other words, this does not refer to scheduled power outages, but to emergency outages caused by shelling, combat operations, or severe weather.
Ukrainians are advised to check the official websites of their regional power companies for any changes in power supply.
Ukrainians are asked to conserve electricity
Although no restrictions are expected, the Ministry of Energy has urged consumers to use electricity sparingly.
This is especially important during peak consumption hours—in the morning and evening. Conserving electricity helps reduce the load on the power grid, which continues to operate under constant attack.
