What happened in the Dnipropetrovsk region

On the night of May 17–18, Russia launched a massive strike on the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, six districts of the region were targeted. The enemy used missiles, drones, artillery, and aerial bombs.

In Dnipro, apartment buildings and private homes, a religious institution, a university, a business, and vehicles were damaged. According to preliminary data, 18 people were injured in the city.

A fire broke out in the Dniprovskyi district, damaging private homes and vehicles. Two women were injured, and one of them was hospitalized.

In the Samarivskyi district, a house, an administrative building, and a car were on fire, and an agricultural enterprise was also damaged.

In Kryvyi Rih, a business and infrastructure came under attack. Two men, aged 36 and 40, were hospitalized in moderate condition.

The Russian army also shelled the Kamyansky, Synelnykivsky, and Nikopolsky districts.

Why are there train delays?

The delays are related to the aftermath of the massive strike, security restrictions, and the need to adjust train logistics. In such situations, railway workers may temporarily adjust routes, change terminal stations, assign additional trains, or organize transfers.

Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia had already reported disruptions to train service following attacks on railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Specifically, on May 12, shelling caused delays for commuter trains on the P’yatykhatky–Terny, P’yatykhatky–Rokuvata, P’yatykhatky–Dnipro-Holovnyi, and Dnipro-Holovnyi–P’yatykhatky routes.
