Security concerns forced Waikiki to close its only store in Sumy

LC Waikiki has temporarily suspended operations at its only store in Sumy, located in the “Kyiv” shopping center. The decision was prompted by the security situation in the region and the high number of air raid alerts, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the “Kyiv” shopping center.
“Due to the security situation in the region, the LC Waikiki store in the “Kyiv” shopping center will be temporarily closed starting August 6, 2026,” the statement reads.
According to the shopping center, the store will resume operations once the security situation improves.
“If you need to return merchandise, you can do so at any LC Waikiki store in Ukraine,” the “Kyiv” shopping center concluded.
In July, JYSK also temporarily suspended operations at its store in Sumy due to the security situation. On August 8, the chain announced that the store had reopened as usual.
LC Waikiki is a Turkish clothing brand that has been operating in the Ukrainian market for over 10 years. In Ukraine, the chain is managed by TEMA MODA UKRAINE LLC—this company is listed on the brand’s official website as the operator of its Ukrainian business.
Before the full-scale invasion began, the chain had about 50 stores in Ukraine. Due to the hostilities, some of the retail locations were destroyed or ceased operations. Despite this, LC Waikiki maintained its presence in the Ukrainian market and subsequently resumed expanding its network.
