Officials from the State Bureau of Investigations, in collaboration with the National Agency for Corruption Prevention, have exposed the head of the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre in Lviv Oblast, who is suspected of attempting to offer an unlawful benefit to an official of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention.
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigations, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to investigators, the official offered $30,000 to ensure favorable results in a lifestyle review and to avoid potential legal consequences.
What, according to investigators, was the bribe offered for?
According to the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR), monitoring of the NACP official’s lifestyle began in late 2025 based on materials from the Bureau as part of a separate criminal proceeding.
According to the investigation, in June 2026, the head of the regional office of the State Geocadastre began seeking an opportunity to meet in person with the head of one of the NACP’s departments.
During the meeting in Lviv, according to law enforcement officials, he offered $30,000 in exchange for a favorable outcome of the audit.
The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) states:
“During the meeting in Lviv, he offered an official of the Agency $30,000 for the desired outcome of the monitoring. In an attempt to conceal the content of the conversation, the man wrote the amount of the bribe with a pen on a napkin.”
How the arrest took place
According to the investigation, an employee of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention immediately reported the offer to the agency’s leadership.
Law enforcement officers then documented the official’s subsequent actions.
Later, the official arrived in Kyiv for another meeting, where, according to the State Bureau of Investigation, he was detained while handing over the illegal benefit.

What charges were brought against the official
The official was notified of charges under Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine —offering, promising, or providing an unlawful benefit to a public official holding a position of responsibility.
Investigators are currently preparing a motion to impose a preventive measure in the form of pretrial detention.
If found guilty in court, the penalty under this article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment, with or without confiscation of property.
