Second car explosion in Odessa today: one person killed and one injured

On the evening of July 28, a second car explosion occurred in Odesa that day. The incident took place in the city’s Kyivskyi District while a crossover was in motion. The driver was killed in the explosion, and a female passenger was injured and hospitalized.
This was reported by the Odessa District Police Department, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
What is known about the explosion
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, the explosion occurred on Nebesna Sotnya Avenue near the intersection with Yaroslav Mudryi Avenue.
The vehicle exploded while in motion.
Police reported that:
- the driver of the SUV died at the scene;
- the female passenger sustained injuries;
- the woman was hospitalized.
An investigative team, bomb disposal experts, and forensic specialists are working at the scene to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
“The legal classification of the incident will be determined after all the circumstances have been clarified,” the police said.
This is the second car explosion in Odesa today
On the morning of July 28, another car explosion occurred in the Peresypsky district of Odesa.
A 49-year-old driver was injured in that incident. After conducting initial investigative measures, the Security Service of Ukraine classified that explosion as a terrorist act.
At the same time, law enforcement has not yet announced a final legal classification regarding the evening explosion in the Kyivskyi district. The causes of the explosion and possible scenarios are currently being investigated.
