On one of the beaches in Karolino-Buhaz in the Odesa region, a 9-year-old child on an inflatable mattress was swept out to sea. A rescue operation is underway. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has confirmed the incident. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Suspilne.
According to the State Border Guard Service, the rescue operation is being complicated by threats at sea and in the air. The situation is being monitored.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 28. Around 5:00 p.m., local Telegram channels reported that the child was on the beach with relatives. According to their reports, when the air mattress began drifting out to sea, the child’s uncle swam after the child but was also unable to return to shore due to the current.
It is also reported that another vacationer on a SUP board tried to help them.
