U.S. President Donald Trump spoke positively about the outcome of his talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which took place in the Oval Office at the White House. The American leader said the meeting went “very well” and posted joint photos after the talks concluded.
Donald Trump announced this on his social media platform Truth Social, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

After the talks, the U.S. president thanked his Ukrainian counterpart and spoke positively about the results of the meeting.
“It is a great honor for me to meet with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. We discussed many issues. The meeting went very well!” Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Along with the post, the U.S. president shared photos taken during the meeting in the Oval Office.

What Zelenskyy and Trump Discussed
The talks took place behind closed doors.
After the meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the two sides discussed a number of key areas of defense cooperation.
Among the main topics:
- the possibility of Ukraine obtaining licenses to manufacture interceptor missiles for Patriot systems;
- other defense projects between Ukraine and the U.S.;
- diplomatic steps toward further cooperation;
- coordination of future contacts between the two presidents’ teams.
The meeting took place against the backdrop of new decisions by the U.S. Senate
The talks between Zelenskyy and Trump coincided with the start of the U.S. Senate’s consideration of a bill imposing new, sweeping sanctions against Russia.
A procedural vote was supported by 86 senators, paving the way for the bill’s final consideration. The bill provides for new sanctions against Russian officials, banks, and the “shadow fleet,” as well as the possibility of imposing high tariffs on countries that continue to purchase Russian energy resources.
