You Can Once Again Apply for the “School Student Package” Through “Diyu”: Step-by-Step Instructions

Ukraine has resumed accepting applications for the “Schoolchild’s Package” government assistance program. Parents and legal guardians of first-graders can apply for a one-time payment of 5,000 hryvnias, which may be used to purchase school clothing, shoes, school supplies, and books.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the press service of the “Diya” government services portal .
Who is eligible to receive 5,000 hryvnias
The following individuals may submit an application:
- parents of first-graders;
- adoptive parents;
- the child’s legal guardians who are citizens of Ukraine.
For orphans and children deprived of parental care, the application must be submitted in person at a service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, regardless of the place of registration.
How to submit an application through “Diyu”
You can apply for the payment online in a few steps:
- log in to the “Diya” app;
- open the “Government Assistance” section;
- select the “School Supplies Package” service;
- select the child who is starting first grade;
- open a special “Diya.Card”;
- select the “Care for a Child” account;
- Check the information;
- sign the application using “Diya.Signature.”
The payment will be credited only to the special “Care for a Child” account in the Diya.Card.

What the funds can be used for
The 5,000 hryvnia grant is intended to help prepare your child for the school year.
The funds can be used for:
- school supplies;
- school clothes;
- shoes;
- books and other necessary items for a first-grader.
Who May Be Denied Assistance
Assistance will not be granted if:
- the child is not enrolled in first grade or is repeating a grade;
- the application is submitted after November 1;
- the Pension Fund or the Ministry of Finance has not confirmed eligibility for the payment;
- another parent or guardian has already submitted an application;
- the applicant has been deprived of parental rights;
- the child is abroad, in a temporarily occupied territory, or in an area of active hostilities with no date set for de-occupation;
- the applicant is in a temporarily occupied territory and does not have internally displaced person (IDP) status.
The government emphasizes that the program is designed to help Ukrainian families reduce the costs of preparing their children for school and to provide first-graders with the necessary school supplies.
