Why Currencies Are Appreciating
Fluctuations in the official exchange rate are influenced by conditions on the interbank foreign exchange market, currency supply and demand, the international economic situation, and global financial trends.
Currently, the strengthening of the dollar on global markets, expectations regarding decisions by major central banks, and increased volatility in international financial markets are having a particular impact.
The NBU emphasizes that the official exchange rate is used for accounting, customs payments, and other financial transactions, while buy and sell rates at banks may differ.
