The Dollar and the Euro Have Dropped in Value: Exchange Rates as of June 24
24 June 08:24
The hryvnia has strengthened against major foreign currencies on Ukraine’s foreign exchange market. The National Bank lowered the official exchange rates for the dollar and the euro on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. This is evidenced by the updated figures published on the official website of the National Bank of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The U.S. dollar lost about two kopecks, while the euro fell by 31 kopecks at once. At the same time, the dollar exchange rate continues to hover near the psychological threshold of 45 hryvnias.
Official dollar exchange rate as of June 24
The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official dollar exchange rate at:
- 1 dollar = 44.88 hryvnia.
On Tuesday, June 23, the official exchange rate for the U.S. dollar was 44.90 hryvnia. Thus, the dollar fell by approximately two kopecks.
The change in the value of the U.S. dollar remains insignificant. Over the past few days, the official exchange rate has fluctuated near 45 hryvnias.

The euro exchange rate has fallen much more sharply
The official exchange rate for the euro as of June 24 is set at:
1 euro = 51.10 hryvnia.
A day earlier, the euro was worth 51.41 hryvnia. Thus, over the course of a day, the European currency depreciated by 31 kopecks.
The euro’s decline was significantly more pronounced than the change in the dollar’s exchange rate. This trend may be linked not only to the hryvnia’s performance but also to fluctuations in the euro-dollar exchange rate on the international currency market.
How Exchange Rates Have Changed
The official figures as of June 24 are as follows:
- dollar — 44.88 UAH, a decrease of approximately 2 kopecks;
- euro — 51.10 UAH, a decrease of 31 kopecks.
Thus, the hryvnia has strengthened against both major foreign currencies.
At the same time, the NBU’s official exchange rate is not a mandatory price for banks and currency exchange offices. They buy and sell cash currency at their own rates, taking into account supply, demand, and conditions on the interbank market.
