Rain and strong winds: Ukrainians warned of a sudden drop in temperature

A sharp change in the weather is expected in Ukraine. On Wednesday, May 27, most regions will see rain, and winds will pick up to storm-force gusts. Starting Thursday, temperatures will drop noticeably—in some places, daytime highs will be only 12–18 degrees. This warning was issued by meteorologist Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to her, an atmospheric front will cross Ukraine on May 27, so rain is expected across virtually the entire country. In addition to precipitation, the meteorologist forecasts strong winds with storm-force gusts.
“On Wednesday, there will be strong winds with storm gusts everywhere in Ukraine! Be careful!” Didenko warned.
Where will the strongest winds be?
On Wednesday, May 27, windy weather is expected in Ukraine. Wind gusts may reach 15–20 meters per second.
Because of this, Ukrainians are urged to be careful outdoors. During strong winds, do not park cars under trees, near advertising structures, or near old buildings.
It is also best to avoid staying near power lines and temporary structures.
Rain is expected across most of Ukraine
According to Natalka Didenko’s forecast, an atmospheric front will bring precipitation to most regions. Rainfall may be brief, but in some areas it will be heavy.
Unstable weather will affect virtually the entire country.
Amid the rain and strong winds, the air temperature will remain relatively comfortable, but the situation will change starting the next day.
What will the temperature be on May 27
On Wednesday, it will be warmest in the south and southwest of Ukraine. There, temperatures will rise to 25–28 degrees.
In the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Luhansk regions, temperatures are expected to reach 17–21 degrees.
In the rest of Ukraine, daytime temperatures are forecast to be 20–23 degrees.
Despite the relatively warm weather, strong winds and rain may make it feel cooler.

Weather in Kyiv on May 27
Rainy and windy weather is also expected in Kyiv on Wednesday. According to Natalka Didenko’s forecast, the capital may see storm-force gusts of northwesterly wind reaching 15–20 m/s.
“Windy weather is expected in Kyiv on May 27, with storm-force gusts of northwesterly wind reaching 15–20 meters per second! Be very careful!” the meteorologist noted.
The daytime temperature in the capital will be around 21 degrees.
Kyiv residents are advised to be careful outdoors, especially near trees, balconies, billboards, and structures that could be dangerous in strong winds.
A cold snap is coming to Ukraine starting Thursday
Natalka Didenko warned that starting Thursday, Ukraine will experience a noticeable cold snap. Daytime temperatures will drop to 12–18 degrees.
“Starting Thursday, a cold snap is expected in Ukraine, with daytime temperatures dropping to 12–18 degrees! Those who feel the cold and are sensitive to weather changes—get ready!” she wrote.
This drop in temperature will be noticeable after the warmer days, especially in regions where temperatures of 25–28 degrees are still expected on May 27.
When will the warm weather return?
According to preliminary forecasts, warmer weather may return in early June. However, in the coming days, Ukrainians should prepare for unstable weather, rain, strong winds, and a noticeable drop in temperature.
Forecasters advise keeping an eye on forecast updates, as the weather can change rapidly as atmospheric fronts pass through.
