Turnkey energy business: a 19 MW portfolio of solar power plants is up for sale

27 May 06:56

A portfolio of operational solar power plants with capacities ranging from 1 MW to 5 MW has been put up for sale in Ukraine. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing InVenture

The facilities are located in the Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions, are already connected to the grid, generate electricity commercially, and generate a proven cash flow from the sale of electricity on the “day-ahead” market through a trader.

Both individual solar power plants, registered as separate LLCs, and the entire portfolio are being offered for sale. An investor may acquire 100% of the corporate rights of a single company or the entire asset package.

The minimum asking price for the property is $650,000.

What is being sold

A portfolio of 6 operational solar power plants with a total capacity of 19 MW is offered for sale.

The facilities are located in two regions:

  • Kirovohrad Oblast — 9 MW;
  • Vinnytsia region — 10 MW.

All solar power plants are already operational, participate in the day-ahead market, have a formal legal structure, and generate revenue from electricity sales.

The buyer gains the opportunity to enter a ready-made energy business without the risks associated with construction, grid connection, plant commissioning, and obtaining permits.

Why this business might be of interest to an investor

The sale of operational solar power plants may appeal to investors seeking a ready-made business in the renewable energy sector with an established cash flow.

The key advantage of such assets is that the plants are already built, connected to the grid, operating commercially, and selling electricity on the market.

Investors do not need to go through the complex development phase: finding land, obtaining technical specifications, building the plant, connecting it to the grid, testing the equipment, and launching electricity sales.

Advantages of the solar power plant portfolio

Key benefits of the offering include:

  • the portfolio’s total capacity is 19 MW;
  • the plants are already operational and generating revenue;
  • assets are legally registered under 6 separate LLCs;
  • there is an option to purchase a single SES or the entire portfolio;
  • the sale is conducted through 100% of the corporate rights;
  • The facilities are located in two regions of Ukraine;
  • Modern equipment is used;
  • There are confirmed figures for generation and operating costs;
  • The stations operate on the day-ahead market through a trader;
  • Financial, legal, and technical documentation is available for due diligence.

Transaction Structure

The buyer is offered the opportunity to acquire 100% of the corporate rights of a single LLC or the entire portfolio of companies. This format involves a full transfer of ownership of the legal entity and its associated assets.

The transaction structure can be flexible. The investor may choose a single 1 MW facility, a larger 3–5 MW plant, or acquire the entire 19 MW portfolio.

Financial, legal, and technical documentation is provided upon request as part of the due diligence process.
