In 2025, Ukraine saw a significant increase in chicken egg exports, which rose by 77% compared to the previous year, reaching 137,500 tons.

This was reported by the Grain Exchange, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to the data, 73.3% of exports were purchased by European Union countries. Other European countries outside the EU purchased 12.7% of exports. Middle Eastern countries purchased 8% of the volume, Southeast Asia—3.2%, and other regions—2.8%.

Reasons for the growth in exports

The increase in exports is driven by high demand from the EU and geographical proximity to major buyers.

“Demand for Ukrainian eggs in the EU is growing, which provides new opportunities for our producers,” note experts from the Grain Exchange.

Despite the growth in exports, egg production in Ukraine in 2025 decreased by 0.5% compared to the previous year and amounted to 11,434 million units, which is 13% less than the 5-year average. At the same time, the share of industrial enterprises in total production rose to 54% or 6,085 million eggs, while the share of households decreased to 46%.

“Despite difficult economic conditions, large enterprises are maintaining production stability by implementing automation, new management systems, and product certification. At the same time, production in households is declining amid high feed costs and limited financial resources,” the report states.

As a reminder, in March 2026, Ukrainian producers exported 216.2 million eggs, a record high for the past five years. This indicates sustained interest in Ukrainian products on international markets.
