The Ministry of Agrarian Policy, together with FAO, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, is launching a project to help farmers purchase high-quality treated grain seeds. For the upcoming spring and autumn sowing campaigns, farmers will be issued vouchers worth $1,000. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

It is noted that farmers from the east and south of the country can apply for assistance through the State Agrarian Register and receive vouchers worth USD 1000 to purchase high-quality treated seeds needed for the upcoming spring and autumn sowing campaigns.

The program targets 550 small and medium-sized farmers who cultivate land plots of 10 to 300 hectares in Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kherson, Odesa and Zaporizhzhia regions. Priority will be given to farms run by women and those operating near the frontline, where farming conditions remain the most difficult.

Farmers interested in participating can apply for assistance through State Agrarian Register (SAR) until January 26, 2025.

After the applications are processed, selected participants will receive confirmation through the SAR, as well as detailed information on how to receive and use the vouchers.

Funding is provided by the governments of Germany and France.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food emphasizes that submitting an application does not guarantee the receipt of assistance, as eligibility will be determined based on specific program criteria.

“By providing access to quality agricultural inputs, FAO aims to enable farmers to rebuild and maintain their farms, strengthening local economies and contributing to the long-term resilience of war-affected communities,” the ministry emphasizes.
