10 September 17:58
Apple has officially presented the iPhone 17, which has an enlarged 6.3-inch display with ProMotion technology and a 120 Hz refresh rate. There are new color options, but the overall appearance of the device has not changed much compared to last year’s model.

Speaking of the display, it is worth noting that it now provides peak brightness of up to 3000 nits and is protected by updated Ceramic Shield 2 glass, which is three times more scratch resistant. A new anti-reflective coating has also been added.

The front panel features a new 12-megapixel Center Stage selfie camera with twice the sensor, a wider viewing angle and a square shape that improves the quality of portrait and landscape photos.
Camera, design and accessories
The main camera has also been updated: it is now a 48-megapixel Fusion Main sensor with a focal length of 26 mm and f/1.6 aperture. It is complemented by another 48-megapixel wide-angle camera. Both are equipped with optical image stabilization.

the iPhone 17 will come with a base storage capacity of 256 GB and will be powered by Apple’s new A19 processor. The company promises a full day of operation on a single charge, as well as up to 8 hours of longer video playback compared to the iPhone 16, although these claims have yet to be tested in practice. In addition, the smartphone has improved wireless charging speed.
The novelty will be available in five colors: Lavender, Mist Blue, Black, White, and Sage. The starting price will be $799. Pre-orders for all models in the lineup – including the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air – will open on September 12.
Customs rules: what you need to know to cross the border with your equipment without any problems
If you are planning to bring new equipment across the border – for yourself, for sale or at the request of your friends – you should take into account the requirements of customs legislation.
The import of gadgets into Ukraine is clearly regulated: it all depends on whether the items are personal or already considered commercial goods.
Personal belongings are considered to be anything that a person actually uses during a trip: a smartphone, laptop, tablet, accessories, etc., provided that they are not commercial in nature. This is defined in Article 370 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
But if you are bringing equipment purchased abroad, you should keep in mind the duty-free importation rates:
- Up to 500 euros – when entering by car, train or sea.
- Up to 50 euros if you cross the border on foot.
These limits apply only if at least 72 hours pass between trips. If you cross more often, everything is subject to declaration and taxation, regardless of the amount or quantity of goods.
If the limits are exceeded, the goods must be declared and customs duties paid.
Remember the system of “green” and “red” corridors at customs:
- If you have nothing to declare, choose the “green” corridor.
- If you are carrying something in excess of the norm or goods for commercial purposes, you should go through the “red” corridor to file a declaration.
Frequently asked question:
“What if I send a new iPhone in a parcel, indicating the cost of 10 UAH as a souvenir, will it be okay?”
The answer is no.
An attempt to conceal the true content or value of a shipment is a violation of customs regulations. All international parcels are checked by scanners, and such a “scheme” will definitely not work.
So, yes, the iPhone 17 is a top of the line, but knowledge of customs rules is a must-have to avoid getting into trouble instead of the season’s newest product.
It’s worth noting that Apple discontinues four iPhone models after the presentation
Discontinued: iPhone 15 and 15 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.
